Darrell Williams Named Legacy Head Football Coach, Athletic Coordinator

SPRING, Texas (May 15, 2020) — Legacy the School of Sport Sciences made it official Friday, announcing Darrell Williams as the Titans’ new head football

coach. Williams also will serve the Legacy leadership team in his administrative role as athletic coordinator.

Williams, who has coached and taught at Legacy the last two years, graduated from Westfield High School, where he earned all-district honors as a defensive back and was a member of the National Honor Society.

In 2011, the Houston native accepted an athletic scholarship to the University of Tulsa, where he became a three-year Letterman as a defensive back for the Golden Hurricane. Williams, who suffered a career-threatening injury prior to the 2013 season, was an honorary team captain in his final season and capped his career by receiving the 2015-16 Dan Bitson Courage Award, presented to a Tulsa student-athlete who exemplifies courage, perseverance and tenacity for overcoming adversity.

Williams earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business management, specializing in sports administration, in the fall of 2015. Following his graduation from Tulsa, he began serving his community, and in 2016 he founded 3-D Houston Athletics, where his mission to impact the mental, physical, and emotional wellness of athletes began.

Williams is married to his wife, Endia, and they are the proud parents to their son, Darrell III.

Legacy Varsity football will compete as member of the Texas Christian Athletic Fellowship (TCAF) league for the 2020 season.
