model using online instruction and on-campus extracurricular enrichment, consider enrolling in the T.O.T.A.L. Program.
T.O.T.A.L. Titan Online Teaching and Learning
Titans Online Teaching and Learning (T.O.T.A.L.) is a 6-12 grade program at Legacy the School of Sport Sciences that accommodates students and their outside interests, including extracurricular enrichments. In addition to the traditional classroom environment, T.O.T.A.L. provides online instruction through distance education via Edgenuity. Edgenuity is a flexible, online curriculum aligned to the state standards. The curriculum is taught by highly qualified, state-certified instructors.
T.O.T.A.L. is primarily designed for the college preparatory student who wishes to grow and excel academically and personally, while maintaining a flexible schedule. Our personalized approach is competency-based and asynchronous, meaning students can move faster or slower through the material, depending on their individual skills and knowledge. This approach allows students the ability to adapt their schedules to accommodate their other interests, such as athletics. Whether students travel frequently or need a custom-tailored educational experience, T.O.T.A.L. provides a solution.
The Student Athlete (SA)
T.O.T.A.L. will serve as the academic program for the travelling SAs who seek flexibility and a college preparatory experience as they pursue their outside talents and interests. SAs must balance the challenging demands of a busy training and competition or performance schedule, while staying on track with their academic workload. T.O.T.A.L. understands the unique needs of these students, and we work with our sports partners to ensure success for all students.
Our courses are asynchronous, meaning that students can complete their work when it is convenient for them. Additionally, T.O.T.A.L. can help with academic planning for students who wish to pursue athletics at Division I or II colleges, as most of our courses are NCAA approved. T.O.T.A.L. has a variety of resources to educate students about NCAA procedures. Our Director of Collegiate Athletic Affairs is an NCAA specialist and is here to help answer questions about the eligibility process.
Parents of T.O.T.A.L. students enjoy seeing the many benefits of our educational model. Their children learn strong time management skills, develop a heightened sense of intrinsic motivation to achieve academic and extra-curricular success, and are able to pursue their own goals and interests while experiencing an exceptional college preparatory education. Students at T.O.T.A.L. are typically looking for an alternative to traditional school settings for a variety of reasons. T.O.T.A.L. provides a more flexible learning environment and self-paced online courses, allowing students to work at their own schedule and at their own speed.
