LEGACY COLLEGIATE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL FOR CAREERS IN HEALTH AND WELLNESS (Legacy CMHS) is the first accredited charter district in the state of Texas that focuses on the professions within athletics. Legacy is a thematic learning environment, tied together with project-based learning, which has created a curriculum focused on specific areas: athletic administration, coaching, sports media, and sports medicine.  Legacy is the school district of choice for the college prep student who wishes to grow and excel academically, athletically and personally while maintaining a flexible schedule. Students train and are coached by former collegiate and professional athletes. They learn about the professions in sports all while building an extensive network of athletic industry experts.

Legacy actualizes its mission of honoring each student’s unique style of learning by providing a personalized approach to education that nurtures students’ academic and personal goals. Legacy offers challenging academic courses and diverse elective credit options. In partnership with Lone Star Community College and The University of Texas, Legacy offers college credit programs that are designed to provide students with an opportunity to earn either an associate degree or up to sixty college credit hours paired with their high school diploma.

What Sets Legacy Apart?

Legacy prepares learners to become global citizens, critical thinkers, effective communicators, and responsible leaders by providing an academically challenging, values-based curriculum from the context of our athletic heritage.
