On Tuesday, October 7, the Legacy School of Sports Sciences volleyball team led with the energy and teamwork that brought them to an exciting win. The gym was loud, the crowd was hyped, and you could tell from the start that the girls were locked in and ready to play.

After the game, I talked with Senior Zoe Benoit, who shared her thoughts on how the team performed. “I think the team played great and unified,” she said. Watching them, it was clear that everyone was in sync, moving, talking, and celebrating every point together.
When I asked how they keep each other motivated during the game, Zoe said, “We enjoy making each other laugh or smile by doing dances or saying funny encouragement.” You could see that fun energy on the court; even when things got intense, they kept the vibe positive.
Zoe explained that what really makes their team work well together is their connection and humor. “Our comedy keeps us together and we work to trust each other,” she said. That bond helps them stay calm under pressure and trust that each player has their back.
Even off the court, their support doesn’t stop. “We support each other by cheering and saying encouraging words,” Zoe told me. That type of friendship and positivity is what makes the team feel more like a family than just teammates.
When it came to keeping her own energy up during the game, Zoe said she focused on communication and composure. “I focus on staying calm and keeping high communication with my teammates,” she said. That mindset definitely showed she played with confidence and focus the whole match.
As for what was going through her head during those big plays, Zoe kept it simple: “Stay calm, see ball, get ball, talk about what’s happening in the play.” Straightforward, but it worked, and it helped lead the team to their win. Tuesday night’s victory wasn’t just another game. It was proof that the Legacy volleyball team’s mix of skill, trust, and good vibes makes them a tough team to beat.
Congrats to Zoe and the whole squad for showing what real teamwork looks like! I’m very proud of the girls and can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings.
