Our Legacy Titans Middle School Baseball team headed to San Marcos to compete in the semi-finals against Village Tech Middle School Baseball Boys.
Coach Xavier Arrendondo from our Legacy MS team shared some highlights of their game. He said, “The biggest highlight was watching our team stay composed and committed after going down 2-0 early. They didn’t panic—they trusted each other, stayed focused, and worked their way back to take a 3-2 lead going into the final inning. That kind of fight and belief in one another speaks volumes about the character of this group. The result wasn’t what we hoped for, but the way these young men competed and supported one another was something to be proud of.”
Remington Elmore, an 8th grader, stated, “Overall, I thought it was amazing that we were able to make a strong comeback. We didn't give up just because we weren't in the lead, and we kept our minds focused on the game. "We all kept pushing through the pressure and never gave up, even if we didn’t meet our goal.” His fellow teammate Patricio Ortiz added, “Don’t let your emotions control the game because if your emotions are negative, you're going to play negative.”
Even though the outcome of the semi-final game wasn’t what the team had hoped for, they still showed what true sportsmanship looks like. While the season is over, the journey continues!
