Graduation Jitters

The Seniors at Legacy the School of Sport Sciences are getting ready to graduate, and honestly, you can tell they have a lot of mixed feelings. Some of them are really excited to leave and start something new, but others seem kind of sad because they've been here for so long.

A lot of them talk about how much Legacy means to them. It's not just a school, it's like their second home. They've played sports here, made friends, and had tons of memories. I heard one senior say that it feels weird walking down the hallways knowing it's their last time. That honestly sounds pretty emotional.

But at the same time, they're also proud of themselves. They've worked really hard to get to this point, and now they're getting ready for college or whatever they have planned next. I think some of them are nervous too, like about leaving their friends or not seeing their favorite teachers and coaches anymore.

Overall, it's like this big mix of emotions, happy, sad, nervous, and proud all at once. They're leaving behind something they love, but they're also moving on to something bigger, and that's kind of awesome.

I've spoken to many seniors asking them how they feel, and pretty much all of them felt the same assortment of emotions, but one particular senior stuck out to me a lot with her answer. Denise Etheredge said,

“I'm excited to leave Legacy because my world is about to open up to a million more things I haven't experienced yet. I learned to take every opportunity that comes at you because if you don't, it gets passed on and you see what potentially could have been perfect for you.”

What Denise said really stuck out to me the most because she explained perfectly what it feels like to be moving on to a new chapter.

As a Freshman at Legacy, hearing what the seniors had to say about how much this school has taught them and how they will use these skills to build on later in life makes me excited to see where I will be in three years when I become a senior. Overall, Legacy has given the Seniors great friendships, lessons, opportunities, and wonderful mentors. I can't wait to see where all of these things will take our Titans in the future!
