Right now at Legacy School of Sports Sciences, students are working hard to get ready
for the STAAR test. Our school is known for sports, but learning in the classroom is just
as important. Teachers are helping us review what we’ve learned so we can feel
prepared on test day.
At the same time, a lot of students are feeling overwhelmed. We have schoolwork,
sports, and other responsibilities, so it can feel like there’s not enough time to get
everything done. STAAR prep adds extra pressure, and many students are nervous
about the big test. It can be stressful trying to stay focused while also thinking about
such an important exam.
Instead of only doing regular lessons, many classes are spending more time reviewing
and practicing key skills. We’re getting reminders about test-taking strategies, managing
our time, and staying calm under pressure. Teachers are also checking in with students
more often to make sure we understand the material and feel supported.
Some teachers try to make STAAR prep less stressful by using games and group
activities, which help us learn in a more relaxed way. We also take practice tests so we
know what the real STAAR test will be like. Even though practice tests can make us
nervous, they help us figure out what we still need to work on.
STAAR season can feel scary, but everyone at Legacy has our backs. Our teachers and
coaches encourage us, which helps take some of the pressure off. They remind us that
it’s okay to feel nervous and that doing our best is what really matters.
By working hard now, we’re not just getting ready for a test. We’re learning how to
handle challenges, manage our time, and believe in ourselves. Legacy is helping us
grow into strong students and strong people, both on and off the field.
